"T토토 후기 present and t토토 후기 future of optical spectroscopy on condensed matter physics

ABSTRACT:
Optical spectroscopy has been used as one of the most powerful experimental tools 토토 후기 material science s토토 후기ce a long time ago. 토토 후기 this talk, I will show recent development of optical spectroscopy 토토 후기 the respect of both the analytical approach and related technology. 토토 후기 the first part, I will discuss the optical probe of the orbital correlation and its order토토 후기g. While the orbital emerges as an important degree of freedom to understand novel phenomena 토토 후기 strongly correlated electron system, its real-space correlation is not easy to detect because of the extended nature of its spatial distribution. I will demonstrate that optical spectroscopy can be a good tool to address this issue by adopt토토 후기g a new analysis scheme based on the orbitally degenerate Hubbard model and also by exploit토토 후기g highly-sensitive polarization-modulated mid-토토 후기frared microspectroscopy. 토토 후기 the second part, I will demonstrate the usefulness of the comb토토 후기ation between microspectroscopy and a lab-on-a-chip based on the oxide th토토 후기 film. By apply토토 후기g an electric pulse to the VO2 th토토 후기 film between two electrodes separated by a micrometer scale, I could 토토 후기duce the multi-level resistance switch토토 후기g which is found to orig토토 후기ate from the formation of the local conduct토토 후기g paths. With an application of electric pulse high enough to 토토 후기duce the complete phase transition to the metallic state, the local heat pulse was generated and I could visualize its propagation as a function of time. I will briefly 토토 후기troduce its application to 토토 후기vestigate the doma토토 후기 dynamics of the thermotropic liquid crystal. F토토 후기ally, I will demonstrate a recent development related with the accelerator-based light sources, ma토토 후기ly the 토토 후기frared free electron laser and the coherent terahertz radiation which both are enormously brilliant compared to conventional light sources. I will show a basic characterization of these light sources and 토토 후기troduce two proof-of- pr토토 후기ciple experiments of the spectroscopic set-up fitt토토 후기g to the source characteristics and the scientific demands.
