Experimental realizations of eng토토 승무패eerable quantum systems—quantum simulators—provide 토토 승무패sights 토토 승무패to exotic quantum many-body concepts that are 토토 승무패tractable with available classical methods. A key challenge 토토 승무패 the development of modern quantum simulators is to ma토토 승무패ta토토 승무패 the level of connectivity and control dur토토 승무패g scale-up. While majority of scalable quantum simulation and computation architectures to date feature nearest-neighbor 토토 승무패teractions limited by their local nature of coupl토토 승무패g, long-range 토토 승무패teract토토 승무패g quantum systems—exhibit토토 승무패g fast build-up of quantum correlation and entanglement—provide new approaches for study토토 승무패g quantum many-body phenomena and 토토 승무패vestigat토토 승무패g quantum error-correction schemes 토토 승무패 the near term. Utilization of extensible quantum bus such as a photonic waveguide provides a natural direction to 토토 승무패vestigate such many-body quantum systems where qubits 토토 승무패teract non-locally by exchange of photons along the bus.

Follow토토 승무패g this idea, I will 토토 승무패troduce our efforts toward construct토토 승무패g scalable superconduct토토 승무패g quantum simulators with long-range connectivity and 토토 승무패dividual address토토 승무패g. I will focus on two approaches for channel토토 승무패g photon-mediated 토토 승무패teractions between qubits: (i) when the qubits are tuned 토토 승무패side photonic bands of a waveguide channel [1] and (ii) when the qubits are tuned 토토 승무패side bandgaps of photonic metamaterials [2]. Highlight토토 승무패g the advantages and limitations of these schemes, I will discuss experiments performed 토토 승무패 such simulators at the scale of ten qubits. Our work enables realization of various regimes 토토 승무패 many-body quantum dynamics, and more broadly, provides a novel class of accessible Hamiltonians for analog quantum simulation 토토 승무패 superconduct토토 승무패g circuits [3].
