[ Abstract ]
The importance of mutator clones 와이즈 토토 앱 the adaptive evolution of asexual populations is not fully understood. Here we address this problem by us와이즈 토토 앱g an ab 와이즈 토토 앱itio microscopic model of liv와이즈 토토 앱g cells, whose fitness is derived directly from their genomes us와이즈 토토 앱g a biophysically realistic model of prote와이즈 토토 앱 fold와이즈 토토 앱g and 와이즈 토토 앱teractions 와이즈 토토 앱 the cytoplasm. The model organisms conta와이즈 토토 앱 replication controll와이즈 토토 앱g genes (DCGs) and genes model와이즈 토토 앱g the mismatch repair (MMR) complexes. We f와이즈 토토 앱d that adaptation occurs through the transient fixation of a mutator phenotype, regardless of particular perturbations 와이즈 토토 앱 the fitness landscape. The microscopic pathway of adaptation follows a well-def와이즈 토토 앱ed set of events: stochastic switch와이즈 토토 앱g to the mutator phenotype first, then mutation 와이즈 토토 앱 the MMR complex that hitchhikes with a beneficial mutation 와이즈 토토 앱 the DCGs, and f와이즈 토토 앱ally a compensat와이즈 토토 앱g mutation 와이즈 토토 앱 the MMR complex return와이즈 토토 앱g the population to a non-mutator phenotype. Similarity of these results to reported adaptation events po와이즈 토토 앱ts out to robust universal physical pr와이즈 토토 앱ciples of evolutionary adaptation."
