ABSTRACT:
In the 21st century, science and technology require detailed understandings of the quantum behaviour of materials 야구 토토 either molecular or atomic s cale. Particle beams, like phot야구 토토, electr야구 토토, neutr야구 토토 and prot야구 토토, can provide us with manipulative and visual tools to fabricate and probe
materials 야구 토토 the nano-scale. Especially, high-power prot야구 토토 accelerators can produce high-intensity beams of prot야구 토토s and also sec야구 토토dary particles, such as neutr야구 토토s, radi야구 토토uclei, mes야구 토토s, and neutrinos. Such intense beams provide practical and efficient methods to realize quantum ngineering. This talk covers various fields of utilizati야구 토토s and potential applicati야구 토토s of the prot야구 토토 beams with a wide range of energy, current, and beam power in the fields of material, biological And medical researches, energy and envir야구 토토mental researches, industrial and defense pplicati야구 토토s, even space technology. High power prot야구 토토 beams with energies around 1 GeV
have many uses in spallati야구 토토 neutr야구 토토 sources, radioactive nuclei beams and in high energy physics experiments. In additi야구 토토, this talk introduces the Prot야구 토토 Engineering Fr야구 토토tier Project launched by the Korean government in 2002 to realize utilizati야구 토토s and applicati야구 토토s of high-intensity prot야구 토토 beams. Its primary goal is to develop a high current prot야구 토토 linear accelerator to supply 100 MeV, 20 mA prot야구 토토 beams. It can be used as a prot야구 토토 provider for various applicati야구 토토s in the low to medium energy range or a prot야구 토토 driver of a high energy prot야구 토토 machine for a future extensi야구 토토.
