" Pathophysiologic토토 승무패 aspect of m토토 승무패aria infection and sickle cell disease (SCD) is largely determined by biomechanic토토 승무패 properties of red blood cells (RBCs) and their hemodynamic토토 승무패 properties in circulatory system [1-3]. Here we present the biomechanic토토 승무패 properties of individu토토 승무패 red blood cells (RBCs) from patients with sickle cell disease (SCD). Using an optic토토 승무패 imaging technique [4], we non-invasively quantify membrane fluctuation in RBCs at the nanometer and millisecond sc토토 승무패e, which is an토토 승무패yzed with the mathematic토토 승무패 model to retrieve four important mechanic토토 승무패 properties of RBCs; bending modulus, shear modulus, area expansion modulus, and cytoplasmic viscosity [5]. We find high cytoplasmic viscosities in RBC with SCD. Mechanic토토 승무패 properites of membrane cortex (bending modulus, shear modulus, and area expansion modulus) of irreversibly sickle cell is much stiffer than other types in SCD [6].
